THAT WAS THEN & THIS IS NOW!
The Great Commission vs. The Alternative Commission
The Great Commission (GC)
These words Jesus spoke to His disciples ''back then''. They were told to teach others to observe (to become watchmen), to baptize (cover) others in the name (Word) of the Father, of the Son (Word of God) and the Holy Spirit (the tangible Word of God).
Today they are still teaching, in spirit (thought form), by what they had written, baptizing (immersing) in the water of the Word. The disciples were told that no worldly force would be able to overcome them.
Sign, wonders and miracles would also follow them and us as they were led by the HS. They would speak with new tongues, (thoughts as they wrote with pens Psalms 45:1) as scribes/writers of the new and greater revelations from God. The disciples were not told to train up others up to execute the GC. It was the HS that would choose those He desired and would lead and guide them into truth, to send them out.
A true but sad story:
I knew an associate pastor that spent a year in search of the most remote part of the world to reach a hidden tribe in Africa. He was elated and told many what he was going to do. The problem is that he was going to leave his wife and teenage children on this quest he thought would glorify God. He left and the children went off into the world without God. What good was it to him to listen to his own spirit that his imagination stirred up to sacrifice his family? What good is it if we gain the whole world and lose those given to us? It was his own thoughts, along with his imagination that deceived him.
The GC references:
Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have
commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach
(proclaim what I tell you) the gospel to every creature.
Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that
believeth not shall be damned.
Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
THE ALTERNATIVE COMMISSION (AC)
Personal Ministry by Sanctification
The AC is a most effective way of ministry that is rarely addressed or talked about in religious circles. It is ''the ministry by sanctification'' for those that have been matured and stay nurtured by the Word of God and prayer. These stay faithful to the Lord via the Word of God and prayer. God empowers them to live a pious life of separation unto Him.
God then sends people, He wants, to them to share their testimonies and answer any of their hard questions. The HS is then present to give them answers via the HS so they can marvel, to then begin their own HS journeys, being led and taught by the HS. The sanctified ones also are able to mentor them as a HS led and sanctified mentor.
The HS via Paul:
Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
Ephesians 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the
ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
The Holy Spirit via Solomon:
2Chronicles 9:1 And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that
was in her heart.
2Chronicles 9:2 And Solomon told her all her questions: and there was
nothing hid from Solomon which he told her not.
Proverbs 22:20-21 Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge, That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou might answer the words of truth to them that I send unto thee?
Jesus Christ:
Luke 12:31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
John 4:16 Jesus said unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
John 4:17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
John 4:18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that said thou truly.
John 4:19 The woman said unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
The Holy Spirit via Luke:
Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
The Holy Spirit via Peter:
1Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
1Peter 4:10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
1Peter 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God gives: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
The Holy Spirit via John:
In John 17, Jesus prayed for those given to Him. The phrase ''given me'' is used over and over, multiple times (10). Why is this so important? God sends people to us that stay separated unto Him, through Jesus Christ, to pray for them, to be available as a minister to them, as they live out their lives by Christ's teachings.
Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
SUMMARY: In these modern times, we have seen many that went out or were sent out into the world as missionaries. Many, many churches train people to do this. How many do they bring into and unto the saving faith of Jesus Christ? How many actually stay the course with the Lord? Some of the best of the best evangelists say that 90% walk or fall away!
Today, 1/3 of the younger generation walk away from religion and others just stay away!
Who is willing to stay still and stay separated unto God by the Word of God and prayer, to evangelize, teach and inspire others to come to Christ and stay a godly course so they stay established in the faith. Our real-time testimonies increase their faith and others too?
How many live out the sanctified life so that God can do signs, wonders and miracles among them? Real time Christianity is living out and sharing with others how to live out the sanctified life in prosperity!
All that are sent out in this modern day have to admit that the world is growing in out of control numbers and becoming more evil in spite of their efforts to send out missionaries.
It's time for ALL to live out the sanctified life that then can be taught to any and all in the world so they can minister to all of those God has given each of us in our respective spheres of influence. Isn't that like loving your neighbor as yourself? How much do we really care about those given to us?
2Corinthians 5:11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
